BIOGRAPHY
Zein El Cheikh is a Lebanese filmmaker, renowned for his exceptional talent and commitment to the craft of storytelling. Raised in Lebanon, his passion for film and narrative was ignited at a young age, driving him to pursue film production studies at the Lebanese University.
Since starting his career in 2009, Zein has aimed to push boundaries within his creativity and share his experiences and talents by giving back to his community.
His work has been recognized in the European and Arab Film Industries, with his films “I’ll be fine” and “Giving Refugee Women a Voice” receiving overwhelming responses and landing on several finalists’ lists. Zein’s work has earned him numerous awards and accolades, cementing his position as one of Lebanon’s most talented and influential filmmakers.
Zein is a talent in the Berlinale talents 2015 field of cinematography and has been headhunted by many international brands for his diversity and unique talent, allowing him to work with brands such as Cartier, McDonald’s, Careem, and Kellogg’s.
In addition to his remarkable achievements in film, Zein has also made significant contributions to the independent art and music scene. He is a notable supporter of the independent film community, serving as a mentor to many aspiring filmmakers. His collaborations with independent musicians, such as Arijan, Jadal, Zeid Hamdan, Sanaa Moussa, and Hamza Namira, have also been widely acclaimed.
Zein’s dedication to using cinema as a tool for positive social change is a testament to his unwavering commitment to creating meaningful and impactful art. His films tackle complex and controversial topics such as social inequality, corruption, and political upheaval, challenging conventional norms and pushing the boundaries of Lebanese cinema.

زين الشيخ مخرج لبناني حائز على جوائز عدة، ولد ونشأ في لبنان، وطور شغفًا عميقًا بالرواية القصصية في سن مبكرة. بعد دراسته للإخراج السينمائي في الجامعة اللبنانية بدأ العمل في عام 2010 على سلسلة من الأفلام القصيرة التي لفتت بسرعة انتباه المجتمع .السينمائي المحلي
أفلام زين استمرت في دفع حدود السينما اللبنانية، حيث تناولت مواضيع معقدة مثل المساواة الاجتماعية والفساد والاضطرابات السياسية
بالإضافة إلى عمله في مجال السينما، كان زين مؤيدًا قويًا للفنون والموسيقى المستقلة وداعمًا صريحًا لمجتمع السينما المستقل، كما عمل كمرشد للعديد من المخرجين الشباب وقد عمل بشكل وثيق أيضًا مع الموسيقيين المستقلين في إنتاج فيديوهات موسيقية مثل حمزة نمرة، سناء موسى، جدل وآريجان
يعد تعاونه مع هؤلاء الموسيقيين المستقلين أحد أهم الأمثلة على دعمه للموسيقى المستقلة
حازت اعمال زين على العديد من الجوائز والتقديرات ومعروف بتفانيه في تعزيز الثقافة اللبنانية والالتزام بإستخدام فنه لتحقيق التغيير الاجتماعي الإيجابي
ويُعَدُّ زين الشيخ اليوم واحدًا من أكثر المخرجين الموهوبين والمؤثرين في لبنان حيث يستمر عمله في إلهام الجماهير في جميع انحاء العالم ويبقى مؤيدًا صريحًا لقوة السينما في التأثير على تغيير المجتمع
